why?

Intrepid Scotland is a social enterprise company, set up in 2012. We mainly operate in the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park, but hey, we're called Intrepid Scotland; we can go anywhere!

There are many outdoor activity providers about who offer a faster paced, more adrenalised outdoor experience, but very few offering you a chance to become a bit more connected with nature by slowing you down. Nature often moves at lightning fast pace, sometimes we move faster. Perhaps we should stop sometimes, in order to see it pass.

Well, let's see what others have said on the matter.....

I might add.......

who?

Most of the work is carried out by Tim, but we have a number of freelance people to help out or lead events.

Tim

I have worked for the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park for over 12 years. My specialities are natural navigation, survival bushcraft and event management. I deliver outdoor education to both primary and secondary schools, catering for the five Curriculum for Excellence stages. I also deliver the John Muir Award to adults and children alike.

Jim

I am a British Level 2 Mountain Bike leader. Rangering is a distant memory, as with all the best outdoors instructors, eh Tim? I love my bushcrafting, especially making the smallest and lightest cooking stoves from coke cans and sticky backed plastic! Hammock camping is a passion and I love teaching people how to travel light both on and off the bike. Bike Safaris a speciality

Craig

I teach people how to fish. This makes a great change from 'the office', where I now spend most of my time! A long time ago now, I mentored Tim in the ways of Rangering and bushcraft and I still know as much as he does about making connections with the natural world! Keen fly tie-er and mountain biker.

Callum

I also taught Tim much of what he knows (and Craig!). A qualified bat handler and a Ranger with National Trust Scotland, as well as a wildlife surveyor. I mainly help out on bushcraft events and birthday parties and also lead bat walks.
